The Office Hornow / Simmersdorf , also spelled Amt Hornow-Simmersdorf , was an office in the state of Brandenburg formed in 1992 , in which 14 communities in the former districts of Spremberg and Forst (now the district of Spree-Neisse , Brandenburg ) had merged to form an administrative association. The administrative seat was in the municipality of Hornow . At the end of 2002 it had 3668 inhabitants. The Hornow / Simmersdorf office was dissolved in 2003 and the municipalities were incorporated into the Döbern-Land office.

Geographical location

The Hornow / Simmersdorf office bordered the Neuhausen / Spree office in the north, the Döbern-Land office in the northeast and east , the Free State of Saxony in the south and the city of Spremberg in the southwest and west .

history

The Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg approved the establishment of the Hornow / Simmersdorf Office on August 10, 1992. August 20, 1992 was set as the date on which the office was established. The office was based in the municipality of Hornow and initially consisted of 14 municipalities in the Spremberg and Forst districts at that time (in the order in which they were named in the official gazette):

  1. Bloischdorf
  2. Gray stone
  3. Big Luja
  4. Hornow
  5. Lieskau
  6. Sellessen
  7. Turkish village
  8. Wadelsdorf
  9. Gahry
  10. Gosda I
  11. Groß Schacksdorf
  12. Jethe
  13. Jocksdorf
  14. Simmersdorf

The municipality of Trebendorf was assigned to the Hornow / Simmersdorf office according to Section 1, Paragraph 4 of the municipal code.

The Hornow-Simmersdorf office had 5359 inhabitants at the end of 1992. The community of Sellessen incorporated into the town of Spremberg on September 27, 1998 and left office.

On December 31, 2001, the communities of Bloischdorf (Hornow / Simmersdorf) and Bohsdorf, Friedrichshain and Klein Loitz ( Döbern-Land ) merged to form the new Felixsee community. The new municipality was assigned to the Döbern-Land office.

On the same date, the municipalities of Gahry, Gosda and Jethe (Hornow-Simmersdorf Office) and Mattendorf and Trebendorf (Döbern-Land Office) formed the new municipality of Wiesengrund , which was temporarily part of the Hornow / Simmersdorf Office for about 1 year . Also on December 31, Groß Schacksdorf and Simmersdorf merged to form the new community Groß Schacksdorf-Simmersdorf. On this date, the municipalities of Hornow and Wadelsdorf merged to form the new municipality of Hornow-Wadelsdorf. The municipality of Jocksdorf merged with the municipalities of Groß Kölzig, Jerischke, Klein Kölzig and Preschen to form the new municipality of Neisse-Malxetal (Döbern-Land office). The Hornow-Simmersdorf Office now managed only seven communities; Graustein, Groß Luja, Groß Schacksdorf-Simmersdorf, Hornow-Wadelsdorf, Lieskau, Türkendorf and Wiesengrund. At the end of 2001 the office had 5053 inhabitants.

On December 31, 2002, the communities of Graustein, Groß Luja, Lieskau and Türkendorf were finally incorporated into the city of Spremberg. The population fell to 3,668 inhabitants and thus well below the number of 5,000 inhabitants required for an office. On March 5, 2003, the Hornow-Simmersdorf office was dissolved by order of the Ministry of the Interior of Brandenburg. The last three municipalities Wiesengrund, Groß Schacksdorf-Simmersdorf and Hornow-Wadelsdorf were assigned to the Döbern-Land office.

Official directors

The head of the office, Günter Quander, acted as the last official director, as no official director was elected. It was also he who negotiated a compensation agreement with the city of Spremberg for the incorporation of the four municipalities Graustein, Groß Luja, Lieskau and Türkendorf into the city of Spremberg. He was hired as the main office manager in the Döbern-Land office and then also deputy head of the Döbern-Land office. In 2008 Quander was elected official director of the Döbern-Land office committee.
