Bünde District Court

The Bünde District Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and employs around 40 people, including five judges. It is one of ten local courts in the district of the Bielefeld Regional Court .

Seat and District of the Court

The court with its seat in Bünde is responsible for the judicial district of the city of Bünde, as well as the communities Kirchlengern and Rödinghausen in the Herford district , which covers a total of 129 km² with around 71,500 inhabitants.

The tasks concern criminal and fine matters as well as civil disputes . In addition, the local court carries out any work that occurs within the framework of voluntary jurisdiction. As for all courts in the Hamm Higher Regional Court , the central dunning court is the Hagen District Court .

The courthouse stands on the market square in the center of the city and was built in 1897. A prison next to the district court building was closed and demolished in 1970. An extension for the courthouse was planned for 2010 and should be completed in October 2010. However, it was only opened at the end of May 2011 in the presence of Justice Minister Thomas Kutschaty and the President of the Higher Regional Court Johannes Keders .

Superior courts

The regional court overriding the Bünde District Court is the Bielefeld Regional Court , which in turn is subordinate to the Hamm Higher Regional Court .
