history

The district court was founded on July 26, 1878 and initially had its seat at Herford Street 50 in Bad Oeynhausen. Its original district comprised the offices of Rehme and Löhne and from the office of Hausberge the communities of Holtrup and Vennebeck . The former court prison served as a youth detention center until 1992 .

At the end of December 31, 1973, the so-called Bielefeld Law repealed the Vlotho District Court and added its district to the Bad Oeynhausen District Court. A branch was initially set up in Vlotho, which was closed on June 30, 1975.
