District Court of Emden

The District Court of Emden is one of five district courts in the district of the District Court of Aurich . It is based in the administrative district in Emden / Lower Saxony .

The judicial district includes the independent city of Emden, the city of Borkum in the district of Leer and the communities of Hinte and Krummhörn in the district of Aurich . The Aurich Regional Court is superior to it. The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court in Oldenburg .

history

After the revolution of 1848 was the Kingdom of Hanover , the jurisdiction of the administration separated and the patrimonial abolished. The district court was then founded with the ordinance of August 7, 1852 regarding the formation of the district courts and lower administrative authorities as a royal Hanover district court. It included the office of Emden and the city of Emden. The district court was subordinate to the Aurich Higher Court . With the annexation of Hanover by Prussia , it became a Prussian district court in the province of Hanover .

The construction of the district court and the prison began in 1909; both buildings were completed in 1911.
