Ancillo Canepa (born May 5, 1953 in Richterswil ) is a Swiss manager .

Life

Ancillo Canepa spent school and youth in Richterswil and Rüti ZH . He has been married to the entrepreneur Heliane Canepa since 1973 .

education and profession

He completed his training as a qualified business economist between 1973 and 1976. He completed his part-time second degree as a certified auditor in 1982. Immediately after graduating in 1976, Ancillo Canepa joined the auditing and consulting firm Ernst & Young . At the same time, he worked as an auditor and consultant in Germany and abroad until 1992, including at Ernst & Young in Boston . From 1993 to 1997 Canepa managed the Mergers & Acquisitions office in Zurich . During this time he managed various larger projects in the areas of company acquisitions / sales, going public , due diligence and company valuation .

From 1998 to 2006, Ancillo Canepa was a member of the executive board and headed the auditing division of Ernst & Young, was also responsible for marketing for several years and was a member of the global “Audit Executive Committee” of Ernst & Young at international level. From 1987 to 1993 he acted as the specialist secretary of the "Expert Commission for Accounting Recommendations - Swiss GAAP" and was a member of various Federal Council expert commissions ("New Company Law" or "Accounting for Banks"). He has written various teaching materials on the subjects of “ stock corporation law ”, “due diligence” and “company valuation”, has worked as a speaker at various technical colleges and universities (areas of expertise: management, financial reporting, corporate governance ) and as an auditor at the Swiss Chamber of Trustees. Among other things, he managed the “ Swissair investigation ” project in connection with the grounding of the Swiss airline , various projects in professional football and the training modules he organized for board members.

Soccer

His home club as an active footballer was FC Rüti ZH (today 2nd league interregional ), for which he played as a junior and as a first team player. At the beginning of August 1971 he completed a trial training with the Grasshoppers Zurich , but there was no commitment.

His work as a functionary he began in 2005, when he was in the Board of Directors was elected the FCZ. After being elected Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2006, Ancillo Canepa left Ernst & Young. After Ancillo Canepa took over the majority of the shares in 2013, his wife Heliane also joined the Board of Directors and has been a delegate ever since . Ancillo Canepa has also been a committee member of the Swiss Football League since 2008 and its chief financial officer since 2018. Since 2009 he has been Vice President of the Pro Sport Zurich association, which advocates the concerns of professional sports organizations in Zurich.

During his tenure as member of the Board of Directors and President, FC Zurich was three times Swiss champions (2006, 2007 and 2009), three times Swiss Cup winners (2014, 2016, 2018), reached the group stage of the UEFA Europa League five times and the group stage once (2009) or the playoffs (2012) of the UEFA Champions League . In 2016, FC Zurich relegated to the Challenge League , but achieved immediate promotion a year later. In 2018, the FCZ qualified second in the group for the second time in the sixteenth finals of the Europa League. The FC Zurich women , who are of particular concern to Ancillo Canepa, have won multiple Swiss championships and Swiss cups and have repeatedly qualified for the Champions League. The offspring of FC Zurich also celebrated various successes. During his tenure, the U18 and the U16 won Swiss championship titles. And FC Zurich's U21s won the Blue Stars / FIFA Youth Cup twice and were promoted to the Promotion League (third Swiss semi-professional league).
