Anderson is a city in Shasta County in the US state of California . It has about 9,932 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
The city is located at the geographic coordinates 40.45 ° north, 122.29 ° west. The urban area has a size of 17.0 square kilometers.
The Sacramento River forms the northern boundary of Anderson. There is also the Anderson River Park . The river here is considered good for fishing and water sports.
Interstate 5 runs through Anderson . California State Route 273 to Redding, a little to the north, begins at I-5 . State Route 273 was originally a section of historic Route 99 .
Demographics
According to the 2010 census, the 9,932 inhabitants were distributed over 3,944 households. The population density was 601.9 inh / km². 83.3% described themselves as white , 0.7% as African-American , 4.3% as Indian , 2.6% as Asian Americans , 3.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 5.4% to several ethnic groups on. 10.8% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
