André Collet (born September 21, 1971 ) is a German long-distance runner and in the 100 km run two-time German overall championship (2013, 2016) and two-time age group world champion.
Career
After finishing school, Collet completed an apprenticeship as a stonemason and sculptor and has since worked full-time as a journeyman in a specialist company in Breinig near Stolberg .
At a young age, Collet , who lives in Raeren, Belgium, discovered his passion for running in the great outdoors and especially for the longer distances outside of his job. The great national and international successes were not to materialize until the 21st century, when Collet was already over 30 years old. Collet started for the DJK Armada Würselen in his first years and moved to the Aachener Turn-Gemeinde (ATG) in 2009 , for which he continues to compete.
In 2010 he was nationally at the Gutenberg Marathon in Mainz and 2011 at the Hamburg Marathon together with his runners from the ATG Philipp Nawrocki and Stefan Schnorr German champion in the team classification.

In his parade discipline, the ultra run over 100 kilometers, Collet topped the annual German annual best list of the German Athletics Association (DLV) from 2009 to 2013 and 2016 . In addition, he won the world championship title in the M 45 age group in Los Alcázares ( Murcia region , Spain) on this track in 2016 with a personal best of 6:44:53 h , making him the best German participant in these world championships in the overall standings . In 2012 he won the age class 40 at the World Championships in Seregno, Italy, and was sixth overall.
In the course of his running career, Collet completed numerous competitions from 5000 meters to marathons - partly in preparation for the 100 km championships . He was particularly successful on the marathon route and won the Monschau Marathon seven times by 2014 .
2016 German champion 100 km run
At the national level, André Collet won the title of German 100 km champion for the second time after 2013 in Kienbaum at the Leipzig 100 km run in August 2016 .
In 2012, 2013 and 2016 André Collet was voted “Sportsman of the Year” by newspaper publisher Aachen for his achievements .
