Andra Joeckle

Heike Andra Joeckle (born November 22, 1967 in Freiburg im Breisgau , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German writer from Berlin .

Life

Andra Joeckle studied German philology and art history in Munich , Paris and Berlin . Parallel to her studies, she worked as a journalist, especially for the Tagesspiegel in Berlin. At the Sorbonne , she earned her master's degree in France with a study of Paul Celan's transmissions from Jules Supervielle . In 1996 she finished her dissertation on Uwe Johnson at the TU Berlin .

In 1997 she worked for a year as a freelance lecturer in Lille , then until 2003 she was a DAAD lecturer at Stendhal University in Grenoble . In 2000 Joeckle took part in the Klagenfurt literature course , which takes place every year at the same time as the Ingeborg Bachmann competition . There her literary talent was discovered by an editor. In 2002 she published her first novel Laura and the Waste of Love at Residenz Verlag . Since 2003 she has been working and living in Berlin as a freelance writer, radio writer and literary translator . She participated in several radio plays. The radio play about the photographer Ré Soupault was broadcast in 2007. Your feature Menschen an Apparaten was broadcast on Deutschlandradio Kultur in 2008 . Her radio play Das Tangotier was produced by Deutschlandradio Kultur in 2014. Her radio feature Cracow with Hands and Feet was also broadcast on Deutschlandradio Kultur in 2009, for which she received the German-Polish Journalism Prize in 2010 .

In 2008/2009 she received two scholarships at the Villa Decius in Krakow . From October 2009 to February 2010 she lived as a town clerk in Sibiu .
