Andreas Einberger
Andreas Einberger (born October 30, 1878 in Kramsach , † April 29, 1952 in Telfs ) was an Austrian painter and sculptor .
Life
The farmer's son did an apprenticeship with Josef Bachlechner the Elder in Hall in Tyrol and initially worked as a wood carver. After years of traveling and activities in Hamburg and Bremen , he turned to painting and studied from 1900 to 1903 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Gabriel von Hackl and from 1903 to 1906 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in the special school of Alois Delug . After studying in Rome , he returned to Kramsach. After returning from military service in the First World War , he married Maria Pöschl from Telfs in 1919, and lived with her in Telfs from 1920 until his death. The only son died as a toddler in 1927.
Einberger built a studio in Telfs and initially worked primarily as a sculptor and graphic artist. He received several commissions, including for war memorials in the Upper Inn Valley. In 1921 he had his first major solo exhibition in Innsbruck. In 1948, the state of Tyrol appointed him to the cultural advisory board of the state government.
His works include portraits, landscapes (especially the high mountains) in watercolor and oil , frescoes , etchings and colored woodcuts . As a sculptor, he created figures, war memorials and nativity scenes.
