Andreas Kuhnert

Andreas Kuhnert (born February 5, 1951 in Chemnitz ; † December 11, 2019 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and theologian . From October 1990 to October 2015 he was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament .

Life

Andreas Kuhnert was the son of a pastor and a teacher and grew up with three sisters. He first attended elementary school in Schönnewitz ( district of Oschatz ) and in 1967 finished the POS in Limbach-Oberfrohna ( district of Karl-Marx-Stadt-Land ). He then completed vocational training as a toolmaker at VEB Carl Zeiss Jena until 1970 . In 1968, he was the only one of 220 apprentices to refuse to sign a resolution that welcomed the suppression of the " Prague Spring " as a "suppression of the counterrevolution". His application to study mathematics was therefore rejected by the TU Dresden because of “socio-political immaturity” . In 1970 he began to study theology in Jena , but was de-registered for refusing to serve in the arms . From 1970 to 1971 he worked as a stage technician at the Stadttheater Jena and from 1971 to 1977 he was able to study theology again at the church universities in Naumburg , Leipzig and Berlin . He served his vicariate in Berlin and Netzen in 1977/78 and worked as a pastor in Netzen from 1979 to 1990 .

Andreas Kuhnert was divorced, had three children and lived in Lehnin . He died of a stroke on December 11, 2019.

Andreas Kuhnert has been doing opposition work under the umbrella of the Evangelical Church since 1978, was a member of the “ Arche Network for Environmental Protection and Human Rights ” and the Church Committee for “Peace, Justice, Preservation of Creation”. In 1989, Andreas Kuhnert became a member of the New Forum and Democracy Now . During the upheaval in 1989/90, he was a member of the round table of the Brandenburg-Land district . On January 30, 1990 he was a co-founder of the SPD in the district and from 1990 to 1994 a member of the Brandenburg-Land district assembly and 1994/95 a member of the Potsdam-Mittelmark district assembly . From 2014 to 2015 he was again a member of this district council.

Kuhnert was a member from September 2008 to November 2019 and chairman of the Lehnin convent council from October 2008 to August 2019 . Furthermore, Andreas Kuhnert was chairman of the local SPD association.

Since October 1990, Andreas Kuhnert was a member of the Brandenburg state parliament . He always entered the state parliament through a direct mandate. Most recently, he received 39.0% of the first votes in 2014 in the constituency of Brandenburg an der Havel I / Potsdam-Mittelmark I. In the 5th electoral term he sat for his parliamentary group in the Committee on Science, Research and Culture (since 2004) and since 2010 also in the Legal Committee. In the previous parliamentary years he was represented in various committees. As a simple member he was in the Committee for Regional Development and Environmental Protection (1990 to 1994), in the Committee for Labor, Social Affairs, Health and Women (1994 to 2004), in the Committee for European Affairs and Development Policy (1994 to 1999, 2009 to 2010), im Legal Committee (1999 to 2004) and in the Committee for Education, Youth and Sport (2004 to 2005). On October 31, 2015, he resigned his state parliament mandate due to cancer, which, however, could be treated well in the following years.
