Andreas Maurer (born March 8, 1958 in Gelsenkirchen-Buer ) is a former German tennis player .

Life

He was one of the best German tennis players from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s. In the tennis Bundesliga he was active from 1980 to 1990 for the TC Blau-Weiß Neuss . In 1985 he also played in the German Davis Cup team, which reached the final against Sweden, but could not use the home advantage in the end.

After his active career, Maurer initially worked as a tennis coach in professional tennis. Until 2009 Andreas Maurer ran a tennis school (New Tennis Generation) together with Marc-Kevin Goellner . In 2009 he founded the Andreas Maurer tennis base and academy , which he has been running ever since.
