Andreas "Bobo" Mayer (born December 15, 1980 in Nördlingen ) is a German soccer player .

Career

Mayer started playing soccer in the youth department of FC Schloßberg and later moved to the youth department of TSV Nördlingen . In 1999 he left Nördlingen and joined the sports club Sportfreunde Dorfmerkingen . At the end of his first season, promotion to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg was achieved. There Mayer developed into a pillar of his team and scored eleven goals in 31 games in his first league season. After his second league season (21 appearances, 4 goals) and relegation again, he moved to regional league club VfR Aalen in the summer of 2002 . At Aalen, Mayer never got beyond a role as a supplementary player. In two and a half years he made 67 regional league appearances, but only eight of them over the full season. Altogether he managed only two goals and finally he moved to the upper division TSV Crailsheim during the winter break of the 2004/05 season and scored six goals in 13 games in the second half of the season . For the 2005/06 season Mayer played at SSV Ulm 1846 and made the breakthrough. With 26 goals he was the top scorer in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg and was also in the final of the WFV Cup , which was lost to the Stuttgarter Kickers on penalties.

With TSG Hoffenheim he found a regional league club again for the following season. He was runner-up in the Regionalliga Süd in the 2006/07 season and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . As with Aalen, Mayer had no regular place during the season and came mainly as a substitute to his 28 appearances (3 goals). At the beginning of the 2007/08 second division season, Mayer made two short appearances against SV Wehen Wiesbaden and TSV 1860 Munich . After the offensive players Demba Ba , Carlos Eduardo and Edu had made additional commitments , further missions for Mayer were unlikely. At the beginning of January 2008 he returned to VfR Aalen in the Regionalliga Süd and qualified with the club for the newly founded 3rd division . After a 0: 5 lost test match against Karlsruher SC in mid-January 2009, Mayer argued with teammate Zouhair Bouadoud . Then both were banned from the first team by coach Petrik Sander and were not allowed to go to the training camp in Belek . From then on, Mayer trained with the second team.

In the following weeks, Mayer dissolved his contract with VfR Aalen and moved to league rivals Kickers Emden in early February 2009 . After Emden withdrew voluntarily into the league after the 2008/09 season for licensing reasons, he left the club again after half a year. He was temporarily without a club and returned to SSV Ulm 1846 for a year in August.

From the 2010/11 season , Andreas Mayer played for the regional division KSV Hessen Kassel . In the early summer of 2012, Mayer extended his contract with Hessen as a leading player by two years before moving to FC Memmingen in the Bavarian Regional League after the 2013/14 season after four seasons with KSV . For the 2016/17 season , Mayer moved to SSV Reutlingen 05 in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . From the 2017/18 season he was under contract with the association league club 1. FC Normannia Gmünd , with whom he achieved promotion to the top division . After the immediate relegation, Mayer dissolved his contract in Schwäbisch Gmünd on July 20, 2019 and was thus signed by the upper league promoted Sportfreunde Dorfmerkingen on July 22, 2019 .
