Andreas Pouchenius the Younger (also: Pouchen ; born September 11, 1553 in Braunschweig ; † October 14, 1613 in Königsberg ) was a German Lutheran theologian.

Life

The son of Andreas Pouchenius the Elder attended school in Braunschweig and studied at the University of Rostock since April 1573 . Here he first completed a degree in philosophical sciences, which he completed on April 10, 1576 with the acquisition of a master's degree in philosophical sciences. After he was admitted to the Senate of the Philosophical Faculty in 1577, he went to Lübeck to his father, where he prepared a disputation de deodorant in 1579 and in 1580 became sub-rector at the Katharineum in Lübeck . In the following year he turned to further studies, as his matriculation on September 9, 1581 at the University of Heidelberg shows.

On September 19, 1583, he entered the register of the University of Tübingen . In Tübingen he completed a disputation de baptismate under Dietrich Schnepf in 1584 and obtained his doctorate in theology on March 14, 1586 . In the same year, the University of Königsberg appointed him second full professor of theology. Three years later he became pastor at the Löbenicht Church and in 1603 pastor in Kneiphof at Königsberg Cathedral . In 1612 he became the first professor of theology at the University of Königsberg and, associated with this, assessor at the Samland consistory . In addition, he had also participated in the organizational tasks of the Königsberg University and was Rector of the Alma Mater in the winter semesters 1589/90, 1593/94, 1599/1600, 1602/03, 1605/06 and 1609/10 .
