Andrzej Szczytko
Andrzej Szczytko (born October 9, 1955 in Grajewo , Poland ) is a Polish actor and director .
biography
Szczytko studied at the State University of Film, Television and Theater in Łódź and at the Goodman School of Drama ( DePaul University ) and worked from 1977 to 1978 at the Norwid Theater in Jelenia Góra , then at the Węgierki Theater in Białystok (1978 –1980), at the Polish Theater in Szczecin (1981–1983), the Theater in Zielona Góra (1993–1995), the Polish Theater in Poznań (1983–2000) and the Nowy Theater in Łódź (2009–2012). He took part in various tours as well as in European and international festivals and worked with Polish directors such as Krystian Lupa and Henryk Tomaszewski . Among other things, Szczytko was also director of the Polish Institute for Theater Arts New York (1991–1993) and Polish Theater Posen (1998–2000)
For his artistic and acting-pedagogical work, he was honored in 2012 with the award for merits in Polish culture and in 2017 with the silver Gloria Artis medal for cultural merit . Szczytko has received numerous prizes and awards, including the most important Polish Witkacy Theater Prize in 2016.
