Angel Krstev (born December 15, 1980 in Prague , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player of Bulgarian descent who has been under contract with HC Neumarkt from the Italian Serie A since December 2014 .
Career
Angel Krstev began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the junior division of the club KK Kontruktiva Praha and later moved to HC Slavia Prague , for whose professional team he made his debut in the extra league in the 1997/98 season . In his debut season, he received two penalty minutes in four games. In 1998, Krstev, whose father is from Bulgaria, was granted Czech citizenship. After he had only played one game for Slavia in the Extraliga the following year and had spent the rest of the time with the U20 juniors, the defender moved to the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the Canadian junior league Western Hockey League for the 1999/2000 season . Before the end of the season, however, he returned to Prague. He spent a large part of the 2000/01 season in the second-class first division at KLH Chomutov .
In the summer of 2001 Krstev signed with HC Liberec from the 1st league, with which he was promoted to the extra league at the end of the 2001/02 season. As the player in the league with the best plus / minus balance during the main round and the playoffs, he played a major role in this success . For Liberec, the left shooter played a total of six years in the Extraliga, where he ended the 2004/05 season at HC České Budějovice in the 1st division, with which he also rose to the Extraliga. After a season at HC Vítkovice Steel Krstev received a contract with the newly promoted HC Kometa Brno . A few days later he was loaned to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod from the Continental Hockey League for the 2009/10 season. After 21 KHL games for Torpedo, he returned to the Czech Republic and played for Kometa in the Extraliga before he was awarded to Färjestad BK from the Elitserien in late January 2010 . During the 2010/11 season , Krstev was awarded to Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg from the KHL.
In May 2011 he received a contract for two seasons with HC Sparta Praha , in which he made 24 championship appearances in the 2011/12 season , in which he remained goalless and contributed six assists, and with the team in first place after the main round was standing. In early February 2012, Krstev's loan transfer to IHC Písek in the Czech second division was announced, where he managed to hit a goal in only two missions. The following season 2012/13 completed the defender again exclusively for the capital club, for which he made 38 appearances in the championship, contributed one goal and twelve assists. As in 2011/12, he played a few games with the team in the final play-offs in 2012/13, but was eliminated again in the quarter-finals, as in the previous season.
In the summer of 2013, the Czech finally changed clubs; this time he went back to the second highest ice hockey league in the Czech Republic, where he signed on at the HC Stadion Litoměřice . In the North Bohemia in Litoměřice graduated angel krstev to mid-October ten league games in which he scored two goals and four more prepared for his teammates before he as try-out came back to the excellence, where he became the Piráti Chomutov on the ice was standing. For the Czech first division team, he completed 39 games in the main round, where he had one goal and four assists. 191 goals conceded in 52 main round games spoke for themselves; thus the pirates had to contest the round of relegation with only 27 points and thus clearly in the last place in the table. These also went clearly in favor of the competition and after the relegation round the team also had to contest the relegation in twelve games against BK Mladá Boleslav , HC Olomouc and HC Kladno . After this was also negative for Piráti Chomutov and the team had to make the way to the second highest division in the country, Krstev returned to his ancestral club.
By the beginning of December 2014, the defender and former international played 22 main round matches for the HC Stadion Litoměřice, in which he remained goalless and made eight assists. After that, the club announced the departure of Krstev, who was with the team in third place in the table, to the Italian club HC Neumarkt .
