Angus Scrimm (born August 19, 1926 in Kansas City , Kansas , USA ; † January 9, 2016 ; real life Lawrence Rory Guy ) was an American actor .

Life

His best-known role is that of Tall Man from the five-part Phantasm film series, for which he first used the stage name Angus Scrimm in 1979.

Before he started acting, he wrote as a journalist and author a. a. for a movie magazine, a TV magazine and the Los Angeles Herald Examiner. He was also responsible for the work of liner notes on LPs and CDs by artists such as B. Frank Sinatra , the Beatles , Artur Rubinstein and Itzhak Perlman . Scrimm won a Grammy for one of his liner notes , back then under the name Rory Guy.

His film career began in 1973 with the film Sweet Kill by Curtis Hanson . In the television series Alias , Scrimm played the role of SD-6 agent Calvin McCullough.

Scrimm died on January 9, 2016 at the age of 89.
