Anna Maria Nilsson (born May 13, 1983 in Östersund , Sweden ), married Anna Maria Uusitalo , is a former Swedish biathlete .

Anna Maria Nilsson is a student in Östersund and has been practicing her sport since 2000. She competes for Jämtland Biathlon and has been a member of the Swedish national team since 2006. She is the sister of the biathlete Mattias Nilsson .

The Swede made her international debut in 2002 at the Junior World Championships in Ridnaun . She achieved her best placement there with the season as fourth. For the next season she started in Ål in the Junior European Cup . After a fourth place in the individual and a second place behind Ann Kristin Flatland in the sprint, she advanced to the Biathlon World Cup for the first time . In Pokljuka she was then with the season 14th and 85th in the sprint. Since the 2004/05 season, Nilsson has been appearing alternately in the World and European Cup, and since 2007 at the latest in the World Cup. The major event of 2006 was the European Championships in Langdorf , where she was 41st in the individual, 42nd in the sprint, 28th in the pursuit and ninth in the relay competition with Johanna Holma , Helena Jonsson and Sofia Domeij . In the 2006/07 season she was able to collect World Cup points for the first time in Ruhpolding as 26th in the sprint. At the Biathlon World Championships 2007 in Antholz she finished 21st. Her best individual results so far in the World Cup reached Nilsson in the 2007/08 season , when she reached sixth place in a sprint and an individual competition. In the overall ranking of the season she was 34th and also achieved her best career result there so far. The home world championships in Östersund were a bit disappointing . Nilsson was 27th of the individual, 28th of the sprint, 34th of the pursuit and eighth in the relay race with Helena Jonsson, Sofia Domeij and Elisabeth Högberg . The next major event was the 2009 Biathlon World Championships in Pyeongchang . The Swede was again in four races and finished 70th in the individual, 49th in the sprint, 43rd in the pursuit and on the side of Domeij, Jonsson and Anna Carin Zidek as the final runner of the relay in fifth place. The highlight of his career was the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , where Nilsson was able to start in all five races. In the individual she came in 24th place, was 16th in the sprint, fell back to 47th place in the pursuit, came 28th in the mass start and came fifth with Högberg, Zidek and Jonsson in the relay race. In the 2011/12 season she achieved a podium in the singles of Östersund for the first time.

In the summer of 2020 Uusitalo took over the position of sports manager for the Swedish national biathlon team.
