Anne Lolk Thomsen (born May 15, 1983 in Svendborg ) is a Danish rower. She belongs to the Danske Studenters Roklub from Copenhagen and took part in the Summer Olympics for Denmark in 2012 and 2016 together with Juliane Rasmussen .

Career

In 2010 it starts for the first time in a rowing World Cup . At the third World Rowing Cup in 2010, which was held in Lucerne , she started in the lightweight single and reached the C-final, in which she had to be satisfied with sixth and last place. Overall, she took 18th place.

From the following year she formed a team with Juliane Rasmussen , and the two started together in the lightweight double scull . The duo made their debut at the World Rowing Cup in Munich and reached the A final. At the A final on May 29th in Munich, the two finished fifth in 7: 07.380 minutes. At the second World Rowing Cup of the year, which was held in Hamburg, they also started and reached the A-final again. Behind the teams from the USA and Germany , they finished third on June 19 with a time of 7: 12.660 minutes. At the World Rowing Cup in Lucerne they could not build on their performances and only reached the D final, in which they took first place. Due to the mostly good results, the Danish duo qualified for their first rowing world championships . At the World Championships in Bled , Slovenia , they reached the B final, in which they took second place. Overall, they took eighth place.

In the Olympic year the two took part in all three World Rowing Cups. The first event was in Belgrade , where they reached the A-final. With a time of 6: 57.820 minutes, they took fourth place on May 6th. At the second event, which took place in Lucerne , they again qualified for the A final. There they had to be content with sixth and last place. In Munich, at the third event, they were able to put another exclamation mark before the Olympic Games. In the A-final on June 17th they finished second behind the New Zealand duo consisting of Louise Ayling and Julia Edward in a time of 7: 24.310 minutes . Thanks to their good performance together with Juliane Rasmussen , the team was nominated by the Danmarks Idrætsforbund for the 2012 Summer Olympics . The duo reached the final and missed a medal there in 7: 15.53 minutes as fourth.

In the two years after the Olympics, the team did not take part in either world championships or the World Rowing Cup. In the 2015 season, the duo returned to the World Rowing Cup. They celebrated their comeback at the second edition of the year, which took place in Varese , Italy . But they missed the A final and took third place in the B final. At the third event in Lucerne , they again missed the A-final and took third place in the B-final. Nevertheless, they competed in the 2015 World Rowing Championships , which were held on Lac d'Aiguebelette , and were able to reach the A final. In the A-final they reached fifth place in 7: 54.590 minutes.

In the Olympic season, Anne Lolk Thomsen and Juliane Rasmussen only took part in the last two events of the World Rowing Cup. Before they started at the World Rowing Cup, they took part in the European Rowing Championships in 2016 , which were held on the Beetzsee regatta course in Brandenburg on the Havel . They reached the A-final and finished there on May 8th with a time of 7: 54.590 minutes. At the second edition of the World Rowing Cup in Lucerne , the duo reached the A-final and finished fifth in a time of 7: 13.260 minutes. The third event took place in Poznan , and they were able to reach the A-final again and on June 19th had to admit defeat only to the Dutch duo consisting of Ilse Paulis and Maaike Head in 6: 49.100 minutes . They were nominated again for the Olympic Games by Danmarks Idrætsforbund . On the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas , the duo only reached the B final and took third place in this. Thus, the Danish women finally finished ninth.
