The Annemarie is a German ewer with a steel hull. It operated for the Nordfriesische Schifffahrtsgesellschaft in the North Frisian Wadden Sea as an island and Hallig supplier. Her home port is Hooge .

history

In 1914, one of the last newbuildings before the First World War was completed at Johann Hinrich Jacobs' shipyard in Moorrege on the Pinnau : the Hermine motor ewer with auxiliary sails . Enthusiastic about the modern technology of the diesel engine, the Gauensieker skipper Hermann Dralle - who had commissioned the ship - still trusted the tried and tested Segelewer hull lines to be on the safe side and had the cargo ship also equipped with a mast and sails. So he drove, mostly laden with apples and bricks from the Old Country , the Lower Elbe. During the Second World War , the ship's track was lost until it appeared as a cable lay in the North Frisian Watt. Instead of the mast and sails, she now had a small wire rope crane excavator on deck. The ship carried out this service as a cable layer until 1965 and thus played a major role in the electrification of the Halligen and the expansion of the telephone network to the islands.

Under the new name Annemarie with home port Keitum / Sylt, the ship continued to carry cargo. For this purpose it was entered in the sea register with the number 184 and also received a marine radio system. Captain ship owner Carl Ingwer Holst from Archsum / Sylt also had his new ship lengthened to a little over 20 meters and equipped with a new wheelhouse and a two-cylinder two-stroke engine with 50 hp.

After the ship was initially sold to Flensburg in the mid-1970s, it was used again a little later from Amrum in the North Frisian Watt. In 1977, Captain B. Diedrichsen von Hallig Hooge bought the ship. He initially had it overhauled at the Husum shipyard . The bottom and bow were renewed and the machine replaced by a four-cylinder four-stroke engine with 140 hp. Just three years later, another lay in the shipyard followed in Rømø / Denmark, during which the floor was repaired and a new Hiab crane was installed.

Captain A. Möller - grandson of Captain Diedrichsen - handed the ship over to the Nordfriesische Schifffahrtsgesellschaft in 2015, which continues to operate it in the commercial freight service to the Halligen and islands. The ship, which is driven by two crew members and is approved for sailing on the mudflats, is equipped with modern radio equipment ( GMDSS ), radar , GPS , echo sounder , autopilot and hydraulic rudder.

Thanks to the first owner (especially his choice of the shipping lines of a sailing company), the Annemarie can once again be a bridge to modernity today: As a test vehicle for modern sail drives, it will be the windjammer shipping project (including the cargo schooner Undine ) and thus the modern one in the coming years Shaping maritime shipping.

2019 - Annemarie is sold and on the way to a shipyard in Hamburg. The underwater hull is checked and re-coated. - In a three-week journey into the inland with more than 1300 km through canals and rivers (Elbe, Elbe Lateral Canal, Mittelland Canal, Dortmund-Ems Canal, Rhine-Herne Canal, Rhine, Main, Main-Danube Canal) to Forchheim in Franconians now wash the waters of the Regnitz around Annemarie's hull.
