history

Today's Antenne Niedersachsen started broadcasting for all of Lower Saxony, Bremen and Hamburg in 1990 and received its license from the Lower Saxony State Media Authority for Private Broadcasting (NLM). This makes Antenne Niedersachsen the second oldest private radio station in Lower Saxony after Radio ffn. The license was last extended in 2017 and is now valid until 2030.

Shortly after the start of broadcasting, the name became antenna. Changed the radio to avoid confusion with the public service NDR 1 Lower Saxony. In 1996, the station was under a relaunch to Hit-Radio Antenne renamed. From 2007 it was temporarily called Hit-Radio Antenne Niedersachsen , because Hit-Radio Antenne Bremen went on air in Bremen and Bremerhaven at the same time . On August 19, 2013 the station was renamed to Antenne Niedersachsen again. A new logo and new jingles have also been introduced.

The music orientation is an AC format with an emphasis on current hits and the most popular songs of the 1980s and 1990s.

On January 1st 2007, Antenne Niedersachsen started its offshoot "Hit-Radio Antenne Bremen", later called "Antenne Niedersachsen für Bremen und umzu", with a broadcasting license from the Bremen State Media Authority (brema). “Antenne Niedersachsen für Bremen und umzu” could be received until it was set to 104.8 MHz in Bremen and 107.9 MHz in Bremerhaven. Every day from 9:55 am to 1:55 pm, "Antenne Niedersachsen für Bremen und umzu" broadcast its own program. Apart from a few minutes of regionalization per day, the program was otherwise completely identical to the Lower Saxony “Antenne Niedersachsen”, which can already be heard on 105.7 MHz throughout Bremen. The frequencies from “Antenne Niedersachsen for Bremen and around” were put out to tender in November 2014 and awarded to Radio Teddy in March 2015 .
