Anthony Battaglia (born August 15, 1979 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Tulsa Oilers in the Central Hockey League since December 2010 .

Career

Anthony Battaglia began his career as a hockey player with the Soo Indians, for which he was active in the junior league North American Hockey League in the 1997/98 season . The winger then attended Western Michigan University for four years , for whose team he played in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . In the 2002/03 season he made his professional ice hockey debut when he was on the ice for the Lowell Lock Monsters from the American Hockey League and the Florida Everblades from the ECHL . From 2003 to 2008, the left shooter competed for several clubs from the ECHL. These were the Mississippi Sea Wolves , Utah Grizzlies , Augusta Lynx, and Columbia Inferno . In addition, the American ended the 2006/07 season at Manchester Phoenix from the British Elite Ice Hockey League .

After Battaglia had gone hunting for goals for the Kalamazoo Wings in the International Hockey League in the 2008/09 season , he joined the Amarillo Gorillas from the Central Hockey League for the following season . For this he scored 45 scorer points in 54 games, including 13 goals. The following season he began with the Mississippi RiverKings , before Battaglia was committed in December 2010 by the Tulsa Oilers , in which he runs on the ice with his brother Bates Battaglia .

Battaglia's brother Bates is also a professional ice hockey player. Her grandfather Sam was a well-known Mafia boss and briefly head of the Chicago Outfit .
