Anton Freiherr Hye von Glunek (born May 26, 1807 in Gleink , † December 8, 1894 in Vienna ) was an Austrian lawyer and politician.

Anton Hye attended the Stiftsgymnasium Kremsmünster . He studied law at the University of Vienna and obtained his doctorate in 1831. jur. After practicing in court at the Steyr magistrate, from 1832 he was a supplement to the chair of the natural u. of the Austrian criminal law, from 1834 archivist of the legal faculty of the University of Vienna. From 1835 to 1854 he was a professor at the Theresianum, from 1842 public full professor at the University of Vienna. In 1848 he was head of all student corps for a few days and in 1848 he handed over the student petition to court. As State Secretary in the Interior Ministry, however, he advocated the dissolution of the Academic Legion. He played a major role in the Press Law of 1849 and the Criminal Law of 1852. From 1848 to 1849 he was Secretary General, from 1849 to 1857 Ministerial Counselor, from 1857 to 1867 Section Head in the Ministry of Justice, from June to December 1867 Minister of Justice.

Hye was appointed a member of the manor house in 1869 , and from 1871–1872 he was rector of the University of Vienna. He was chairman of the juridical commission of the manor house and founding member of the juridical-political reading club in Vienna. He was a member of the Imperial Court. Hye was married with five children. He is buried in Steinhaus near Wels . Parts of his written estate are in the National Library of Israel in Jerusalem.

In 1910 the Hyegasse in Vienna- Landstrasse (3rd district) was named after him.
