Anton Geyer

Anton Geyer (born November 3, 1918 in Englbolding near Passau-St. Korona, † May 7, 1993 in Passau ) was a Roman Catholic priest .

Life

After his military service, Geyer was ordained a priest in 1948 . He then worked as a cooperator in Tittling (1948), Passau- St. Anton (1949) and Passau- St. Bartholomäus ( Ilzstadt ) (1951).

On April 1, 1955, he became secretary to Bishop Simon Konrad Landersdorfer and vicar at St. Stephen's Cathedral . On October 28, 1968, he was appointed vicar general and cathedral capitular of the Diocese of Passau by Bishop Antonius Hofmann as successor to Johannes Dachsberger . From 1968 he was also chairman of the Diocesan Caritas Association . On May 1st, 1982 he took over the office of dean of the cathedral and in 1984 he was the cathedral provost of the Passau cathedral chapter until his retirement in 1989.
