family

Anton Hart

Anton Hart was born as the son of the entrepreneurial couple Anton and Eva Hart (née Sommer) and baptized in the pilgrimage site of Maria Loreto in the Egerland. He grew up with four sisters in Neukinsberg near Eger. The oldest was Marie (1906–1968), followed by Hermine (1909–2000), who was later able to save the original miraculous image of Maria Loreto from 1665, then Sr. M. Illuminata Hart with the maiden name Margareta (1912–2008), one sister of the Congregation of the sisters of Mercy of the Holy cross, and Erna (1913-2001). Anton Hart married the entrepreneur's daughter Felizitas Steiner-Hart, a née Ziegler. The marriage resulted in two sons and a daughter.

Career

Anton Hart attended the Egerer Oberschule and the ceramic school in Bechyné / Czech Republic , studied at the engineering school in Zwickau and, until he was drafted into the German armed forces, held managerial positions in the Neukinsberg pottery factory of his father Anton Hart senior. After the Sudeten German population was expelled from the Egerland in 1946, he settled in Waldsassen and built two new "HART ceramics" factories there and in Schirnding .

Reconstruction of Maria Loreto

Anton Hart was one of the initiators of the reconstruction of the Maria Loreto pilgrimage site . His knowledge of the Czech language made it easier to work with Czech media representatives and church authorities, such as the then Pilsen Bishop František Radkovský , the then parish administrator of Eger and today's Abbot Filip Zdenek Lôbkowicz O.Praem. The ten-year construction period included the lifting festival of the bell tower and the inauguration of the restored Chapel of Mercy in 1994, the reopening of the former pilgrimage route and border crossing Mammersreuth-Altkinsberg, the inauguration of the restored pilgrimage or Holy Spirit Church in 1996, in the following years the restoration of various stations of the cross and Figures as well as the outdoor facilities with the cemetery.

Anton Hart's love for his old homeland inspired the “Association for the Preservation and Promotion of the Maria Loreto Pilgrimage Site in Altkinsberg” in Waldsassen in 1992; Egerland e. V. ”to establish. The friends' association set the starting point for cooperation with the Czech authorities, first and foremost Otakar Mika , Lord Mayor of Eger / Cheb and the local church.

Honored by the city of Cheb

During his visit to Eger on May 3, 1996, the former Czech President Václav Havel was impressed by the German-Czech cooperation in Maria Loreto. On June 20, 2002, the city of Eger named the Waldsassen entrepreneur an honorary citizen because of his outstanding services to the reconstruction of the Maria Loreto pilgrimage site .

"Hart-Keramik" company

Cross-border social engagement and cultural promotion continue to play an important role for the Hart entrepreneurial family. Sponsoring campaigns to finance the maintenance of culturally valuable church buildings are another aspect.

The current administrative location of the company "Hart Keramik" in the "monastery town" of Waldsassen was founded in 1928 as "Ziegelwerk Waldsassen AG". The beginning economic miracle in the post-war period ensured strong growth and upturn. The brick and clay works in Schirnding was incorporated into Anton Hart's company and the first modern tunnel kiln soon went into operation in Waldsassen. The pursuit of technology leadership and the focus on the development of new products and sales activities characterize the company. In 1977, the current head of the company, Anton Wolfgang Hart, Anton Hart's eldest son, joined the company as an authorized signatory and was appointed to the board a few years later.

The Waldsassen plant is considered to be the nucleus for the company's economic rise after the Second World War. The entire "HART ceramic" product range was originally manufactured there. With the acquisition of the Schirnding brickworks and the construction of the new production facility for Poroton bricks at the beginning of the 1990s, brick production was relocated to Schirnding. The original Plant I in Schirnding was designed for efficient ceramic tube production since the mid-1980s. In addition to the production of ceramic pipes, the Waldsassen plant was geared towards accessories, ceramic fireclay, clinker, radial clinker for industrial chimneys and special ceramic products. For environmental and energy policy reasons, the decision was made in 2010 to build a new Plant III with the relocation of production from Waldsassen to Schirnding. Since then, all production facilities have been united there.
