Together with Iryna Kryuko , he competed in the first race and finished eleventh in the single mixed relay competition. In Annecy he started the sprint for the first time in an individual competition and reached the 90th place. The 2018/19 season began for Smolski with results outside the points. At his first World Championships in Östersund , his best result was a 58th place in the individual. In the next winter Smolski reached world cup points with a 35th place right at the World Cup start in Östersund. His best result of the season he achieved in March in Kontiolahti, where he finished 14th in the pursuit.
