Model study of the An-50 on a scale of 1: 150

The Antonov An-50 was a project by the Soviet Antonov design office from the 1970s for a transport aircraft that was to be based on the successful An-24 / An-26 series.

The plans basically provided for an An-26 equipped with four Ivchenko AI-25 jet engines , which should give the aircraft a cruising speed of 800 km / h. It is worth mentioning that two engines should be attached to only one pylon, similar to how it was implemented with the Boeing B-52 . The An-50 never left the project stage.
