Antony Devotta (born June 30, 1943 in San Thome , Tamil Nadu , India ; † October 15, 2019 in Tiruchirappalli ) was an Indian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Tiruchirappalli .

Life

Antony Devotta received on 27 August 1971, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On November 16, 2000, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Tiruchirappalli. The Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches , Duraisamy Simon Cardinal Lourdusamy , donated him episcopal ordination on January 28, 2001 ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore , James Masilamony Arul Das , and the Bishop of Tuticorin , Peter Fernando .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on July 14, 2018.
