The Apostolic Vicariate Archipelago of the Comoros ( Latin : Apostolicus Vicariatus Insularum Comorensium ) is a Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate based in Moroni and Mamoudzou . It includes the Comoros archipelago ( Union of Comoros and Mayotte ).
history
Pope Paul VI founded the Apostolic Administration of Comoros on June 5, 1975 from cession of territory by the Diocese of Ambanja . On May 1, 2010 she was elevated to the position of Vicariate Apostolic.
The evangelization in the Comoros in the past by the Capuchins been carried out. With the decreasing number of monks , the mission has been entrusted to the Salvatorians since 1998 .
