The metropolis of Jadur is located in a fictional Arab country, where Caliph Alquazar leads an iron regime. One of his prisoners is the actually noble Prince Hassan, who also asks for the hand of Princess Zuleira. The caliph proposes a deal to the imprisoned: Hassan gets his freedom back if he procures a mysterious magic rose for Alquazar. With this Alquazar wants to secure sole power in Jadur. Hassan goes on a search - supported by a squad of quick-witted soldiers of fortune, the orphan boy Majeed and the devious lackey Khasim.
The rose is hidden in a thick jungle, protected by all sorts of traps, magic and creatures. But Hassan and his companions master all obstacles. They receive support from Majeed, who has a magical diamond with which he can call the fairy Vahista, who grants him three wishes. This gives Hassan possession of the rose. But then Khasim shows his true colors: he works for Alquazar and then steals the rose. At the last moment Majeed can retrieve the rose.
Hassan and his people return to Jadur as Alquazar has meanwhile also taken Zuleira hostage. He sends an army to meet Hassan's people. Both sides engage in a battle with flying carpets high above Jadur. Hassan fights his way to Alquazar's hiding place in a cave. The caliph kills Hassan, who can be saved by Majeed's diamonds. Majeed finally comes into possession of the rose and uses it against Alquazar, who is then defeated.
The terror is over and Hassan marries Zuleira.
