Arbedo-Castione is a municipality in the Arbedo-Castione district , in the Bellinzona district in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland . It consists of the two factions Arbedo and Castione .

geography

The community lies at an altitude of 278/280 m above sea level. M. Neighboring communities are Riviera , Bellinzona and Lumino in the canton of Ticino, and San Vittore and Roveredo in the canton of Graubünden .

The municipality is traversed by the Ticino , the Moësa and the Traversagna . Also in the municipality is the Lago d'Orbello .

Community merger

In 1820, Castione was separated from Lumino to form the new municipality of Castione-Arbedo with Arbedo .

traffic

Arbedo-Castione is served by the S10 and S20 lines of the Ticino S-Bahn and operated by the Treni Regionali Ticino Lombardia ( TILO ). The S10 line is used twice an hour by a train in the direction of Bellinzona, Locarno , Chiasso and the S20 line is used twice an hour in the direction of Bellinzona, Lugano .
