Aries Spears

Aries Spears (born April 3, 1975 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actor and comedian . He became famous for his participation in the comedy telecast MADtv on FOX .

Life

Aries Spears was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA. His family moved to New Jersey , where he dropped out of school at the age of 17. Spears started his comedian career in his hometown. His first television appearance was on Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam , followed by It's Showtime at the Apollo .

Career

First roles in film and television

Spears moved to Los Angeles in 1992 and landed a role on the television series College Fever . He was also frequently seen at The Comedy Store , The Improv and The Laugh Factory clubs at the time . His other television roles included appearances on Crosstown Traffic , The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. and Soul Train .

At the age of 17, he was in the movie Malcolm X to see. A short time later he had a role with Glenn Frey in South of Sunset .

MADtv

Aries Spears became part of MADtv in 1997, during the third season, and left the show at the end of the 10th season in 2005. He was to be seen for a full 8 seasons on the US comedy show. During this time he created characters such as comedian Belma Buttons (co-host of the metafictive series "Reality Check"), Dollar Bill Montgomery (host of a satire on the late-night political show Politically Incorrect , called "Realing Talk with Dollar Bill Montgomery "), As well as James Brown Jr. (co-host of" Cabana Chat ").
