Arjundhara ( Nepali नगरपालिका ) is a city ( municipality ) in the extreme east of the Terai in Nepal in the Jhapa district .
The city was created in 2014 from the merger of the Village Development Committees Sanischare and Arjundhara . The new city was originally named Shani-Arjun . In 2017 the name Arjundhara was chosen again. The city is named after a well-known sanctuary, the Arjundhara Temple .
Arjundhara is 4 km north of the city of Birtamod . The city administration is located in Sanischare Bazar . The urban area covers 58.6 km².
Residents
At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Shani-Arjun had 45,174 inhabitants (21,414 of them male) in 10,166 households.
