Birtamod ( Nepali बिर्तामोड Birtamod ) is a city ( municipality ) in the eastern Terai of Nepal on the border with India in the Jhapa district .

Birtamod is 13 km northwest of the district capital Bhadrapur on the Mahendra Rajmarg highway .

The city was created in 2014 by merging the Village Development Committees Anarmani and Charpane . The urban area covers 35.9 km².

The climate is subtropical; the temperatures move on average between 6 ° and 36 °.

Residents

In the 2011 census, the VDCs, from which the town of Birtamod emerged, had 60,174 inhabitants (29,390 of them male) in 14,393 households.
