Armin Störzenhofecker (born April 29, 1965 in Nuremberg ) is a former German football player in the position of midfielder and current coach .

Athletic career

Störzenhofecker began his career at TV Dietenhofen. As a teenager he came to 1. FC Nürnberg for the first time and played for the Franconian professional club in the B and A youth. In 1983, however, he left the club and joined local rivals SpVgg Fürth , with whom he played in the Bayern League . Already in the 1983/84 season he had established himself in the team with the Kleeblättler and played all 38 season games for the club, in which he was one of the team's supports with eight goals this season.

After another season, Störzenhofecker returned to 1. FC Nürnberg. At that time, however, he did not get beyond the amateur team of the Franconian professional club and played on the side of Klaus Wabra or Marc Oechler again only in the Bavarian League. He left the club after two seasons and joined the Bayernliga promoted MTV Ingolstadt , with whom he finished fourth. Nevertheless, he changed clubs again after a season and went to the Swabian club FC Augsburg , which also competed in the Bayern League. With nine goals this season he was again one of the outstanding players, so that TSV 1860 Munich recruited him to help in the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga .

In Munich, Störzenhofecker was one of the regulars straight away. With eight goals this season, he was tied with Horst Schmidbauer and Bernhard Meisl behind the internal top scorer Walter Hainer to guarantee a place in the front. Under coach Karsten Wettberg , the twelve-season games left in the season Wilhelm Bierofka had replaced as coach, but the rise was initially denied because the team last season game despite interim guidance only to a 3: 3 draw with rivals 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 came , who was able to maintain the championship lead in the Bayernliga by one point. Although Störzenhofecker was only able to score one goal the following year, thanks to the goals by Schmidbauer and Roland Kneißl , the club dominated the league and ended the season as leaders with seven points ahead of second division relegated SpVgg Unterhaching . After three draws at the beginning of the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga against Borussia Neunkirchen , KSV Hessen Kassel and 1. FC Pforzheim , the traditional Munich club returned to professional football after three wins in the second legs.

In his first professional season, Störzenhofecker played 24 league games for TSV 1860 Munich. At the end of the season he had to relegate the club to relegation, in which SC Fortuna Köln prevailed. After relegation, he remained loyal to his club and again reached the promotion round with the team as leaders of the Bayern League. The club prevailed again without defeat when in the decisive game of SSV Ulm in 1846 in Munich's Grünwalder Stadium only a 1-1 draw came. The now more defensive-oriented Störzenhofecker was also one of the regular players in his second season in the second division and helped the club to march straight through to the Bundesliga in 37 games this season . There he played 27 games under Werner Lorant , but was only second choice for long periods of the season. Therefore, he left the Munich club at the end of the season.

In 1995 the Nuremberg club brought Störzenhofecker back into their ranks, this time he was part of the professional team playing in the second division. Although he was written off several times, he always managed to play his way into the team and, especially in the 1997/98 second division season, helped the team to move up to the Bundesliga under coach Felix Magath . In October 2001, however, he was sorted out along with six other players and relegated to a B-team. After the contract between 1. FC Nürnberg and Bernd Hobsch and Sven Günther , Störzenhofecker was pardoned again and was allowed to return to the A-squad. In January 2002 his contract was finally terminated "by mutual agreement", he later took over the training of the E-Youth in Weißenbronn and has been running a football school since then. From July 2010 to September 2012 he coached the Middle Franconian regional division TSV Wassertrüdingen in his first senior coaching station, from October 2012 to summer 2013 SV Raitersaich, before moving to SC 04 Schwabach for the 2013/14 season. However, he was released there in March 2014.
