Arnes Nachlass is a German feature film from 2013. The film was based on the novel of the same name by Siegfried Lenz .
action
Arne's father killed himself and his whole family because he couldn't get over the bankruptcy of his company. It is only by chance that Arne escapes death. The traumatized boy is taken in as a foster child by a childhood friend of his father's. He runs a small company in the port of Hamburg for the dismantling of ships, which is itself in economic difficulties. Harald's children react differently to the linguistically gifted Arne. While Hans protects him, Lars feels reset. Wiebke, on the other hand, tries to break Arne's amnesia by asking him uncomfortable questions about his father's suicide. But the more Arne tries to cope with the tragic event, the more the constellation steers towards a catastrophe.
criticism
"Atmospheric tragedy borne by elegiac images, which transfers its heavy literary material into the modern in a meaningful and sensual way."
