Arnold Ganser

Arnold Ganser (born June 19, 1954 in Bardenberg ) is a German hematologist and university professor .

Career

Ganser attended high school in Alsdorf near Aachen . As a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation , he studied human medicine in Aachen , Glasgow , Baltimore and Denver from 1972 . After passing the state examination in Aachen, he was qualified as a Dr. med. doctorate , he was from 1979 to 1981 medical officer in surgery at the Bundeswehr Central Hospital in Koblenz .

In 1981/82 he was a research assistant to Theodor Fliedner at the Department of Clinical Physiology at Ulm University . In Ulm, he began specialist training in internal medicine with Hermann Heimpel (1930–2014). With Dieter Hoelzer he went to the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in 1984 . He completed his habilitation with him in 1991. As a senior physician , he specialized in hematology and internal oncology (1992).

On April 1, 1995, he accepted the call of the Hannover Medical School for the chair of oncology . Also a formal hemostaseologist since 2007 , as director of the Clinic for Hematology, Hemostaseology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation .

Since 2009 he has been Managing Director of the Center for Internal Medicine at MHH. Since 2011 he has been deputy spokesman for the Collaborative Research Center 738 Optimization of Conventional and Innovative Transplants .
