The 2015/16 season is the seventh season of the second highest soccer division in Mexico since the establishment of the Liga de Ascenso, which has been officially called Ascenso MX since the summer of 2013 .
While the pre-season was contested by 14 teams, the league was expanded to 16 participants in the summer of 2015. Eleven of them were already there in the preseason.
In sporting terms , the first division promoted Dorados de Sinaloa and the relegated from the same, Leones Negros , swapped places. There was no relegation to the third-class Segunda División because of the increase in the league from 14 to 16 teams. Neither team rose in terms of sport, because participation in the second division this year was only possible with a corresponding license acquisition. The Murciélagos FC acquired the license of the CD Irapuato and the Cafetaleros de Tapachula replace the Altamira FC . The two teams added due to the increase in the league are the Cimarrones de Sonora and FC Juarez . In addition, the Mérida FC was renamed Venados FC .
The cross table shows the results of all games of this season. The name of the home team is listed in the left column, a three-digit abbreviation for the visiting team in the top line.
