Ashete Bekere Dido (born 17th April 1988 ) is one of Ethiopia coming athlete and marathon runner .

Sporting successes

Ashete Bekere specializes in long-distance athletics. Since 2011 she has competed internationally in marathons.

She finished fourth in the Reims Marathon 2011 in 2:33:56 h, in the Rome Marathon 2012 she came in second in 2: 31.23 h, and in the Tokyo Marathon 2016 she finished in 2:25:50 h seventh place, at the Maratón Internacional de la Ciudad de México 2017 with 2:38:46 h second place.

In April 2019 she won the Rotterdam marathon in 2:22:55 h . At the 46th Berlin Marathon on September 29, 2019, the then 31-year-old won in a personal best with 2:20:14 h in the finish sprint and relegated her compatriot Mare Dibaba to second place in 2:20:21 h.
