Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine Readers' Award

The Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine Readers 'Award , also known as Asimov's Readers' Poll , is an American literary prize that has been awarded annually since 1987 for works in the fields of science fiction and fantasy . The award is based on a vote by readers of the science fiction magazine Asimov's Science Fiction for stories published there in the previous year. The award ceremonies take place together with the presentation of the Nebula Awards at the annual Worldcon . The publisher William F. Battista was the initiator of the award.

Awards are given in the following categories:

  • Novella : short novel (over 17,500 words)
  • Novelette : Narrative (over 7,500 and under 17,500 words)
  • Short Story : Short story (less than 7,500 words)
  • Poem : poem (since 1988)
  • Cover Art : Cover picture (since 1988)
  • Interior Artist : Illustrators (since 1988)
  • Special Award : Special award (only given once in 1988)
