The Athesinus Consort is a Berlin-based, professional vocal ensemble that acts as a double quartet with a solo presence. The members of the Consort are concert singers who are also active in the Collegium Vocale Gent , the SWR Vokalensemble and the RIAS Chamber Choir as well as on the stage of the Deutsches Theater Berlin , with Sasha Waltz & Guests and others. The artistic director of the ensemble is Klaus-Martin Bresgott .

The name of the ensemble is derived from the composer Leonhard Lechner (1553–1606) from South Tyrol , who at the time also called himself Leonhard Lechner Athesinus.

The Athesinus Consort has a musical focus both in the field of early music , especially with the composers of Central and Southern Germany, as well as in the music of the 20th and 21st centuries, with regular performances by Frank Schwemmer , Thomas Jennefelt and others.

The men's quartet of the Athesinus Consort cultivates the repertoire of romanticism and settings of classical modernism.

The Athesinus Consort is programmatically based on a thematic selection of texts, which is presented with a comparison of different arrangements from different centuries. Alternative concert forms, determined by the cooperation with other art forms such as pantomime , dance and percussion, are used.
