action

The television journalist Dan Geraldo has been on the air for 16 years with his "V8" format. But because the show is one of the five shows with the worst audience ratings, his boss threatens to withdraw the show from him. However, it gives him one last chance for a blockbuster: he is supposed to travel to Palumbia, where he is supposed to find out the secret of the “eternal youth” of the Payas. The show is sponsored by a cosmetics company that advertises products in this direction.

The chaotic veterinarian Pablito Camaron, who lives with numerous orphans, has been hired as a guide in Palumbia for Geraldo. He is supposed to lead Geraldo to the Payas in the jungle. Marsupilami also lives in this jungle, which by chance brought the 82-year-old Austrian botany professor Hermoso to discover an unknown species of orchid.

In the meantime Geraldo has also arrived in Palumbia, where he is brought from the airport in a limousine to the dictator of Palumbia, General Pochero. He shows Geraldo his large Celine Dion fan room in the basement, where he collects the singer's clothes. Geraldo interviewed Dion years ago, and General Pochero now wants him to arrange a meeting with her. However, due to a mishap, Geraldo breaks out in this room and numerous Celine Dion things are destroyed, which brings Geraldo a stay in the palace prison.

Pablito, who has money worries, deliberately allows himself to be taken to the palace prison, from which he is now breaking out with Geraldo in order to get money from him for leading to the Payas. Meanwhile, the Marsupilami tries to steal the orchids from the botany professor, but the professor notices it, so that the Marsupilami cannot take all the orchids with him. By chance, the botanist succeeds in developing a rejuvenating serum from the remaining orchids. However, in order to ensure his permanent supply of this serum, he has to catch the Marsupilami and train it to collect the rare orchids.

Pablito and Geraldo are meanwhile in the jungle, where Pablito tries to outwit Geraldo as Paya in disguise. In truth, Pablito did not arrange an interview with the Payas, which leads to a heated argument between the two. Meanwhile, real Payas appear who kidnap the two. With the Payas, however, they are treated courteously because they are convinced that “the man with the yellow feet” (Pablito's shoes) and “the man with the square hand” (Geraldo's camera) have come to save the Marsupilami, the the "balance of the earth preserved".

For his purposes, the professor now hires the general's assistant and he actually succeeds in capturing the marsupilami with a GPS cherry after he has tricked the marsupilami. He also takes the marsupilami's eggs, which the marsupilami needs orchids for their life. Geraldo and Pablito, also on the scene, try to intervene, but instead end up in the palace prison again - together with General Pochero, who was overthrown by the professor. However, Pablito manages to take some pictures of the Marsupilami with Geraldo's camera during the event. The three men manage to escape and they can steal the Marsupilami eggs from the palace, while Pochero distracts the soldiers with a Celine Dion song (Alive). Geraldo and Pablito take the limousine to reach the TV studio, where Geraldo is supposed to be connected live and want to show the recordings of Marsupilami.

If he does not show up there, his boss wants to show archive recordings that prove that Geraldo forged his first report on Palumbia. He can now perceive the circuit in time, however, due to a mishap, Pablito erases his "hit", the recordings of Marsupilami. But that turns up in the studio to get his balls back. It presents itself benevolently to the television cameras together with Geraldo and Pablito. But the professor has now located the Marsupilami again and also appears in the studio. He ages during the fight, which is why he takes the last ration of his serum - probably an overdose - which makes him a baby again.

Reviews

“Another high-gloss French cinema product that just gets going like Hollywood, enriches a popular comic motif with gangsters, adventurers, Mad Scientists, mercenaries, Nazis and Aztecs, slapstick cannonade and effective permanent action with a little satire, charm and Irony spices and polished to a shine in the computer. All-round fun for the whole family, a rollercoaster ride for comic fans, action and adventure fans alike. "
