August Friedrich Wilhelm Franz von Zastrow (born August 10, 1749 in Neuruppin , † December 18, 1833 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

August Friedrich Wilhelm Franz von Zastrow came from the Zastrow family .

He was a son of Christian Wilhelm von Zastrow (1712–1758), major and commander of the regiment Prince Ferdinand and Christiane Auguste von Boden († February 17, 1776), daughter of the Prussian Finance Minister August Friedrich von Boden (1682–1762).

He had been married to Wilhelmine Amalie von Beer from the Stolzenhagen house (1766–1832) since 1784 .

His brother was General Friedrich Wilhelm Christian von Zastrow (1752-1830). His sister Frederike Wilhelmine Louise Sophie was married to Major General Johann Adolph von Lützow .

Life

Zastrow's career began in 1762 at the Brandenburg Knight Academy , in 1764 he was a flag junior in the Cuirassier Regiment No. 11 , 1766 cornet , and 1771 with the rank of lieutenant .

From 1774 he served as an inspection adjutant, first with General Krusemarck , then with General Prittwitz . In 1778 Zastrow was staff assistant master and took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession . In 1790 he was promoted to major and dimitted for the first time in 1793 to go to his Gut Hohenlandin .

As early as 1804, however, Zastrow was re-employed as an assistant in the 1st Department for Cavalry Affairs in the Upper War College and promoted to colonel the same year . In 1806 he dimits again, this time with the rank of major general.

In 1813 he was still working as a district division of the Landsturm in the Oberbarnim district , as well as in the headquarters of the Northern Army at Bernadotte . In 1814 Zastrow finally retired.
