Imperial Baron August Friedrich Wilhelm Philipp von Ripperda zu Ellerburg (born August 30, 1779 in Minden ; † December 6, 1863 in Berlin ) was a German officer and district administrator of the Düren district .

August von Ripperda was born as the son of Charlotte (born von Gustedt) and the officer Friedrich Wilhelm Christoph Reichsfreiherr von Ripperda zu Ellerburg. He was taught at home at Ellerburg Castle until he was 10 .
Career
He embarked on a military career and became a flag junior in the Old Prussian Infantry Regiment No. 10 in Bielefeld. During the battle of Jena and Auerstedt he was captured and after the war he entered the service of King Jérôme Bonaparte von Westphalen, where he served as an adjutant to General Ritter von Diemar. After 1813 he returned to Prussian service as a captain and later major in a battalion in East Frisia . Ultimately he was district administrator (1825–1837) of the Düren district in the Prussian Rhine province .
