Paul Schaaff

Paul Schaaff (born June 7, 1885 in Hastenrath ; † February 28, 1966 in Düsseldorf ) was district administrator for the Düren district from 1924 to 1933 .

Schaaff was born in the small town of Hastenrath, which belonged to the Düren district until October 1, 1932, after which it became part of the Aachen district . After attending elementary school there , he went to the humanistic grammar school in Eschweiler , where he graduated from high school in 1905 . He then studied at the universities of Bonn , Münster and Berlin law .

After the first legal exam on July 17, 1908, he began his career at the district court in Simmern on August 27 of the same year . After passing the major state examination, he worked for a short time in 1913 at the Cologne Higher Regional Court . In the same year he switched to the administrative career of the city of Stolberg and in August 1913 to the district administration of Aachen. From there he moved to the district of Hechingen in the southern German Prussian province of Hohenzollerische Lande on May 3, 1921 . From 1922 he was also a member of the municipal parliament of the Hohenzollern Lands .

On April 29, 1924, Schaaff was appointed Deputy District Administrator in Düren by the Prussian Minister of the Interior. He became an ordinary district administrator on June 24, 1924.

Schaaff was replaced as district administrator by Theodor Beaucamp at the beginning of May 1933 and transferred to the Düsseldorf government president. There he was appointed to the government council. In 1937 he was retired.

Schaaff was a member of the Catholic student associations AV Cheruscia Münster and KDStV Staufia Bonn .
