Aurea (* 7. September 1987 in Santiago do Cacém ) is a Portuguese Soul - / pop - singer and songwriter .

Life

After she wanted to become an actress, she decided to pursue a career as a singer. Her 2010 album Aurea reached double platinum status and stayed in the charts for over 70 weeks. The following live album also hit the charts, as did a number of singles, most notably the single Busy (for me) , which was in the charts for 44 weeks and came to number one. She sang in front of a sold out house. a. in the Centro Cultural de Belém , in the Casino Estoril , and in the Cinema São Jorge .

In 2010 she sang, made possible by modern studio technology, with Elvis Presley Love Me Tender in a duet, on the album produced as part of the Viva Elvis project by Cirque du Soleil . She also recorded a duet with the Hungarian singer Nikolas Takács ( Where is the love ), while her album was also released in Hungary in 2010, where she also performed live several times.

In 2011 she was awarded the Globo de Ouro for Best Single Performer .

Aurea was in November 2012 at the in Frankfurt held 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards as portuguese Best act excellent. She won the award in 2011 as well.

Musical style

Aurea's songs are in the style of soul pop from the 1960s, in a contemporary variety, similar to those popularized by the success of female singers like Amy Winehouse , Duffy and Adele .
