Autoceļš A3 is one of Latvia's state highways "State Main Road" ( Lat .: Valsts galvenie A utoceļi ). It runs from Inčukalns by Valka and then to the border with Estonia , where the north-east Jõhvi leading Straße 6 hits. The A3 is part of the European route 264 .

The total length is 122 kilometers. The road leads through the scenic Gauja National Park . The route also goes around the city of Valmiera , one of the largest cities in Latvia . The entire length of the A3 is currently expanded to include one lane and two lanes. In addition, there are no plans to expand the A3 into a motorway-like road . However, half of the road will be modernized in 2012. The maximum speed is 90 km / h. The average traffic volume is 4682 vehicles per day in 2010.
