Avatarmiut [ avaˈtɑmːiutˢʰ ] (according to the old spelling Avatarmiut ) is a deserted Greenlandic settlement in the district of Narsaq in the municipality of Kujalleq .
location
Avatarmiut is located on the island of the same name in the middle of the archipelago between Ikersuaq (Bredefjord) and Narlunaq (Skovfjord), although the exact location of the settlement is unknown. From Avatarmiut it is 25 km to the west to the next inhabited place Qassimiut .
history
All that is known about Avatarmiut is that the residential area was settled in 1796 and that in 1899 most of the population left the place. In 1902 there were two residents left, who also left the place in the same year, which was thus given up.
