Avianca Nicaragua is a Nicaraguan airline based in Managua and based at Managua Airport . It is a subsidiary of Avianca Holdings and a member of the airline alliance Star Alliance .
history
Avianca Nicaragua emerged from NICA - Nicaragüense de Aviación SA (previously Aeronica ) in 2013 when Avianca and TACA merged and thus gradually all airlines operate under the Avianca brand .
For a time, the second Nicaraguan airline Aerotaxis La Costeña also owned 62% of Avianca Holdings , but these shares were sold in 2019.
Destinations
Avianca Nicaragua flies from Managua to Bluefields , Corn Islands , Puerto Cabezas , Bonanza , Sinua , San Carlos , Ometepe , Rosita and, as international destinations, San José in Costa Rica and Tegucigalpa in Honduras .
