Lacsa ( Lineas Aereas Costarricenses SA ) was the national airline of Costa Rica based in San José .

history

The airline was founded in 1946 by Pan American World Airways , the government of Costa Rica and private investors from Costa Rica. Air operations began in 1946, and Lacsa was promoted to national airline in 1949. The regional connections were transferred to Sansa Airlines in 1979 . The airline is now 86.98% in free float, Avianca Holdings (10%) and ASA Lacsa (3.02%) (employee insurance company). Lacsa flew in the group of TACA Regional Airlines .

By mid-2013, the company was renamed to the uniform brand Avianca as part of the merger of its owners . It is now called Avianca Costa Rica .

Destinations

Lacsa flew to over 20 destinations in Central , North and South America . All international destinations are marketed under the name TACA / LACSA Costa Rica . Since January 2005 she has been flying to the following international destinations: Bogotá , Buenos Aires , Caracas , Chicago , Guatemala City , Guayaquil , Havana , Lima , Los Angeles , Managua , Mexico City , Miami , New York , Panama City , Quito , Santo Domingo , San Salvador , San Pedro Sula , Tegucigalpa , Toronto .
