history

TACA Perú was founded in 1999 by Daniel Ratti and Ernesto Mahle as TransAm and began flight operations in July 1999. The name was changed to TACA Perú in 2001 when Grupo TACA acquired a minority stake. TACA Perú is 51% owned by Daniel Ratti and 49% by Grupo TACA .

By mid-2013, the company was renamed to the uniform brand Avianca as part of the merger of its owners . TACA Perú was renamed Avianca Perú .
